Besides Double Lake and Huntsville this is probably the least hilly and mostly smooth course in Texas. Still lots of creek crossings between miles 6 and 8 to keep it fun. Also a few small drops here and there and a cool bridge you cross under and then later over. A little over 8 miles in all, the soil is not typical clay and therefore dries fast after a rain. From Ft Hood area take US 190 to Loop 121 to TX 317N. Drive through Moody and Mcgregor and up to valley Mills. Jump on TX 6 and in Meridian take TX 144 to Glen Rose. Once in Glen Rose take a left on Bernard--this turns into FM 205. Take it oh 6 or 8 miles. Solovaca Ranch is on the left (you will cross over US 67 and pass Dinosaur Valley State PArk on your right).
